The effects of days, weeks, and months of abuse to our bodies in the form of unending workdays, lack of proper sleep, unhealthy food habits, little or no exercise, stress and tension start to show up soon - our energy levels start to sap, our minds feel exhausted and we start to experience aches and pains all over our bodies. All these are surefire signs that indicate that it is time to shower some total loving care on our bodies, and put them through a detoxification routine. It is advisable to detox our bodies at least once a year, as a means of sprucing up our internal systems and getting rid of the various toxins that accumulate over a period of time. It is in a way, a means to fine tune our body, and get rid of little nicks to make sure it is in top performing condition.
Most of us are not aware of the fact that we regularly intake harmful substances every single day of our lives. Most of these toxic substances are present in the foods that we consume daily. Research by leading experts has attributed the presence of these toxic substances in our bodies to the occurrence of various ailments ranging from heart disease to cancer. What one does not have to be a scientific expert to ascertain, is that taking some time out regularly to detox our bodies of toxin buildup and moving forward with a healthier diet to minimize the intake of harmful toxins, is certainly going to make a change for the better in our daily lives and on our overall health in the long run as well.
Detoxifying our bodies can be done in many different ways. Some of these require us to bring drastic changes to our lifestyle habits; so choose carefully; go for a method that you will practically be able to follow. Most people, who give up on body detoxification before it starts to show effects, would have chosen a way of body detoxification that was too drastic for them to stick on to. If you want to take it easy and slow, the first vital step towards ridding your body of wanted toxins would be to reduce the consumptions of foods that have been identified to contain unhealthy amounts of toxins - these include caffeinated drinks (coffee, tea, cocoa based drinks), foods with high levels of saturated fats (just about any processed fast food will qualify), sugar laden foods and of course, alcoholic drinks.
The BEST thing that you can do for your body is give up cigarette smoking. Tough as this may sound, your body will thank you for sparing it from a variety of ailments and a lifetime of abuse. There is nothing that is more toxic to every part of your body than cigarette smoke. Take up quitting smoking as your first priority. There is no escaping the toxins in the air that we breathe everyday or in the fresh fruits and vegetables that are deemed to be healthy, but also contain an unhealthy dose of pesticides. Try to minimize your intake of polluted air by wearing masks and follow proper washing and peeling methods to rid your fruits and vegetables of most unwanted toxins. Also, consult a doctor and get his/her approval stamp on your detoxification routine, especially if you are on prescription medication.
